Thirst Book - Questioning - QART

I was learning about questioning. I read a book called Thirst and used it to for my task, I read it so it could help me learn the differents between the four questions.

The first question is "what is the water company called." My answer is Aqua-Plex, I found it on page
one and two. I did used the scannng stratergy. I looked there because I saw a picture with a van that says Aqua-Plex. I put this under right there questions.

The next question is "what does the water tank code do." The answer is it locks the the tank when it is filled up. I scaned and I looked there because it said Aqua-Plex. I found this on page 2. I put it under think and search questions.

The third question is "why doesn't the Ryder family have as much water as the Carter family." The answer is that they don't much money. There was a answer but not said the same. I put it under author and me questions.

The last question is "what do you think happened to Ryder." I used my own opinion to answer that questions because it was a own my own questions. I put it under on my own questions.

I enjoyed doing questioning because it taught me more about questioning.

Angles - Maths

Maths was about angles, coding, and measuring.

Firstly I grab my materials which is a ruler, dice, protracter, and pencil.

First I start from house 7 go to house 9. Then I get my ruler and measure the distance, the measurment was 22mm, the code is go fwd 22mm.

Next I get my protractor and measure the distance turned, I turned anti clock wise 75 degrees, the code is turn acw 75*.

Then I measure the distance again, the measurment is 72mm, the code is go fwd 72mm. After that I measure the amount of distance turned again, I turned anti clock wise 90 degrees, the code is turn acw 90*.

Lastly I measure the distance, the measurment is 144mm, the code is go fwd 144mm. Last step stop.


I enjoyed the math maze because it helped me learn how to measure angles.

Masking Art

Geometric is simple shapes like simple curves and simple angles. Masking means hiding something.

We were doing gemoetric masking art. The materials used was masking tape used for our frame and for sections, also pastels to color in the gemoetric sections.

We had to make big sections then small sections. When coloring it in make sure you color it in one direction and keep on doing. Don't sketch it because there's going to be flakes.

I enjoyed learning how to make masking art and want to do it more.

Light and Sound Vocabulary

Today we learned about light and sound vocabulary. We learned it by the light and sound vocabulary list, we had to connect the meaning to the right word. For the find, draw. animate, and act we had to pick four words. Our four were: echo, spectrum, reflect, and vibtration.

Echo was find an image, spectrum was draw, reflect was animate, and vibration was act.

We found a image of a person speaking and making an echo. We drew a rainbow for spectrum.

We made a animation of a light reflecting off a mirrior. Lastly we acted out a vibrating person.

Predictions

Predicting means making an educated guess on what is going to happen in the future.

One prediction is that I think the family will have a celebration party for happy
new years.

Another prediction is that the dad is tired of sailing the boat.

The first one is the correct prediction and the last one is the incorrect prediction.

I did well by getting three out of three ( 3/3 ) predictions correct, but I need to be careful when reading to understand the correct meaning.

Verbs / Physical Verbs, Mental Verbs, State Of Being Verbs

There are three types of verbs.

There are action verbs, thinking verbs, and state of being verbs.

Physical words are action verbs. An example is run, jab, learn, complain, argue, travel,
describe, floss, and more.

Mental verbs are thinking verbs. An example is imagine, dream, think, memorise, understand,
picture, and more.

State of being verbs, there are only one state of being verb but it has many different forms. An example is be, was, am, were, is, and will be.

Verbs are helpful because they describe actions.

Reading Large Numbers

Place value is each number has a value. Big numbers are  difficult but easier after learning the basics. Here is a big number and this is how to read 547 829 316.

The first place value is the millions, first say five hundred forty seven million.

Next place value is the thousands, first say eight hundred twenty nine.

Last place house is ones house, first say three hundred sixteen.

All together it five hundred forty seven million, eight hundred twenty, three hundred sixteen.

Properties Of Light

Light is something bright and visible.

One property of light is that light can be reflected. The proof is that the light was shining at the mirrior and it reflected off it.

A second propety of light is that light cannot travel through opaque objects. Opaque means
not see through. The proof is that the light was shining until the thick object stopped it.

A third property of light is that light can be split into different colors. The proof is that the light
was shining through the prism and it made different colors.
