Hauora

L.I: To make diagram of Hauora.

This week we created a poster about Hauora. In the poster we wrote the different meanings of each wall for example: Taha Wairua is your spiritual well being. Taha Wairua explores your relationship...

Having the four walls standing would make an person and athletes feel motivated, happy and would have a balanced mindset which basically means a positive mindset.

Hauora & Olympians

Having all the four walls up help the hard working Athlete have a balance mindset and a healthy, strong body. Mistakes athletes made would help them push harder and instead of being in a stressed situation. If the four walls were all standing they would feel motivated, proud, confident and happy. If the four walls feel they would feel terrible, dissapointed, upset and have no motivation.

 L.I: To summarise a text

Fantastic fish use their gills to breathe underwater. They have three different fins to help them swim. These are the dorsal, pectoral and tail fin.

__________________________________________________________________________________

For reading with Mrs Linda we read fantastic fish. It’s about different unique fish. Fiish have three different fins. They are the dorsal fin which keeps the fish from rolling over, the tail fin which pushes the fish forward and the pectoral fish which helps the fish steer.

Some interesting facts we found were that fish have three different types of fins. Mudskippers can live out of the water and a manta ray has a wingspan about 7 metres across.

We found this activity fun and interesting because we found out the different uses of the fins and there are some fish that don’t look like fish for example the seahorse and the mudskipper. This was an enjoyable activity.

Science Project

L.I: To learn about the different taste buds.

This week for science we researched and learned about the four different taste buds which is: sweet, sour, bitter and salty. After that we finally started the experiment and we tasted each bottle of liquid. Then we recored the information.

After my investigation, I found out that the tongue has many nerves that help detect and transmit taste signals to the brain. Also not everyone has the same taste buds.

I enjoyed this experiment but I didn't enjoy some of the liquids because it tasted disgusting.

Mindfulness Reflection #1

LI: To understand the meaning behind the pause breathe smile program.

This week we had our first session of the Pause Breathe Smile program. Our learning was based on having a calm mindset. We were introduced to this program by first defining what the word mindfulness is. Then we defined it and shared our different definitions with others.

After talking about mindfulness we were introduced to the red zone and the green zone. They are two different zones. The red zone is when you feel stressed, anxious, distracted and others. The green zone is when you feel calm, relaxed, peaceful, curious, clear, balanced, content and engaged.

We were balancing our mind set by forgiving bad things that happened in the past and calming our mind down and focusing on the present. To do this we sat in a circle and listened to the bell while breathing in and out, this helped us relax and focus on positive things.

I enjoyed this session because we learnt about having a positive mindset and about being mindful of others. During this session I learnt how to Pause, Breathe and Smile and calm my mind.
