L.I: To make a smoothie and a fruit salad.

Today for our first session of tech we made a smoothie and a fruit salad. Mrs Heka told us the instructions of what to do before starting, we also had to get into a group of 3 or 4. The equiptment we used: large bowl, two sharp knives and a chopping board. The fruits that we used was: mandarin, apple, kiwi fruit, watermelon and two banana. One of the things Mrs Heka told us was that she showed us how to used the knives propely when dicing the fruit. Mrs Heka also tolds us how to stop the chopping board from moving too much.

We grabbed a big bowl and poured two cups of milk, diced up all the fruits, get 1 cup of yorgurt, grabbed some fruits and put it into a cup, we blended the: banana, milk, and the yorgurt aswell. After we blended up everything we poured it into another cup.

I had a really enjoyable time at my first session at tech. The part I enjoyed the most was dicing the fruit into mutiple pieces.

Then we recapped on what we learnt on the treaty of waitangi and the inner carvings that's in the marae.

After we got told everything, we went outside of the mueseum to practise some moves with the taiaha. We did ka mate ka mate with taiaha.

We also had to do a quiz. We had to make sure that we payed attention when Ngarimu or Kingi told us information. Whoever wins get's a prize. We answered the questions in maori. The questions were:

  1. What's the name of the mountain the mueseum sits on? - The answer is Tamaki Paenga Hira.
  2. What's the name of the mueseum in Maori? - The answer is Pukecaua.
  3. Name two short hand weapons? - The two shorts we named were Mere and Patiti

Cybersmart

L.I: Be cybersmart and use our devices to learn, create and share.

Activity 1 was called Kawa of care. We worked on and completed 3 Google draws. The first two had missing words in the sentences and we had to put the correct word into the right place. The last google drawing we just had to take a photo and insert it into the middle of the page.

Activity 2 was called know your keyboard. On the Google slide if it said where is the refresh your page, we showed it on the keyboard. Lastly we had to write down the different shortcuts. The activity that I found interesting was activity 1 because it was fun and informative.

Why it is important to be hydrated

L.I To understand why staying hydrated is important for our health and our learning.

Hydration means you are having plenty of water and dehydration means you're losing water from your body.

Today we did an activity that’s about hydration and dehydration. We had to find information about the importance of hydration and why we are sometimes dehydrated. We used three websites to help find information. Once we found all the information we put the information into our DLO.

The fact we thought was interesting is that water delivers nutrients to our cells. Another fact we found interesting was that water can also help our organs function properly.

What's Leadership

Our task was about defining what a team is, leadership, role model, and responsibility. This was done in a group. Next we wrote down what we think a leader is and then write a paragraph that uses 25 words. We then copied it on to a google drawing so we can explain our words and paragraphs.

Pie Chart

L.I To plan and carry out a statistical investigation.

Today we did an activity using pie charts. First  we made 4 questions and then collected data by asking the four questions to people around the classroom. When we finished collecting all of the data we took the information from our paper, to make a pie chart on a google spreadsheet. We also made a chart on paper before starting the digital chart.

What we noticed is that the a lot of people's favourite color is blue. The colors red, green, and black had the same amount of votes. Pie charts are really helpful for collecting data as well.

Summary of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Today My group and I were reading about the Treaty of Waitangi. To start, we used the book that we were reading to help us create our summary about the Treaty of Waitangi. What we learned from the book is that the treaty of Waitangi is a day of celebration to remember a historical day of peace, where the treaty was signed by a big number of chiefs. In this activity we learnt about information of the Treaty of Waitangi and about why it was signed by many chiefs so New Zealand could be a part of the British Empire.
