SSR Selfie

L.I:To summarise and retell text.
This week I been learning about my book
and puting imformation on SSR selfie for my books.

What Is Peace


L.I:To learn what peace means.
L.I:To explore some difinitions of peace.
This week for iquiry we learned about what is peace.We had to
get 3 words on put it on the slide but we had to look at the picture
to get the words.Also we had to go on speaker and get one word
a slide and write about the word.Also we had to be in groups to
do what is peace.Peace is our name for inquiry so.We had three states.
and we had to pick which one you think what peace is.The state I picked
was being calm.In our area we had the most people in our area.After we learned
about all the states we talked we had to go in our group and write what peace
means to yourself and peace actually means.In the google slide we had to make
three new slides to write what peace is.

Plot Diagram/Grinch Stealing Christmas

L.I:To understand conflcit and resoulations in fiction text
L.I:To understand plat summary.
This week for writing we have been learning about Dr Seuss book.
Last week we have been learning about The Lorax book and we
had to make a plot diagram about it.This week we been learned
about The Grinch Stealing Christmas.We had to learn about the book first
before writing anything so we can know the story first.When the story has finished
and we learned it we did the plot diagram.Lastly when we are finish we do the conflict
DLO we had to.We had to write all the conflicts that has happened in the story.
We had to put it in order.

  • Chracter vs chracter
Does are that we need for the
grinches conflcit.
Learning about Dr Seuss books
are really fun.


Boxing(Kiwisport)

L.I:To learn counter's in boxing.
This week for kiwisport we did boxing.Counter's for boxing
means you had a comeback.Comeback means you were
losing then you won.The first thing we did was play a game
of stuck in the mud.We had to get into partners.My partnerwas Oscar.
I grabbed two noodles and Oscar has to put his white
gloves on and his boxing gloves for the skills. It was ready for
boxing skills time.


The first skill we had to do was that Oscar had to slide his gloves
up onto his forehead and I have to hit Oscar gloves with my noodles
then Oscar does cross left hook and cross again to the noodles.We had
a go and it was really fun.
The next skill we had to do was that Oscar had to bridge back and bridge
foward after that he has to do cross left.I had to try hit Oscar as he bridges back.
Doing that was really fun to.
The skill after that was that Oscar had to slip and I have to hit him with the
noodle straight at his head.I did it staright because so Oscar can slip and so I
can hit him on his shoulders.Then Oscar has to punch the noodle.
The last skill we had to that Oscar had to roll down and get back up
to upercut and I have to put the noodle on his shoulder.

Maori

L.I:To learn maori.
This week for maori we learned about maori words
for food and to say give and anei in maori.We have two
pieces of paper and it was about food,fruits and vegtables.
We had to write the maori words in the right food.There
was different type of food,fruits and vegtables.The words
for:


  • Apple Juice-Aporo/Vegtables from the ground/Hua Whenua.
  • Banana-Panana/Pie-Taupoki.
  • Toast-Tahi/Letuce-Reti Hi
  • Cheese-Tihi/Chicken-Hei Hei.
  • Pineapple-Panapora/Ham-Poaka Poua.
  • Corn-Kanga/Fish-Ika.
  • Tomato-Tamoto/Bread-Paraoa.
  • Apple-Apora/Sandwhich-Hanawitw.
That are the maori words for the food,fruits and vegtables.Next we had to color
the foods,fruit and vegtables.
Then we had small pieces and paper for giving and here.Learning maori is
very good to me and interesting to me also important to me.


Kiwican

L.I:To respect our enviroment.
This week for kiwican we played games and talked about
respecting our enviroment.The first game we played was
called four conners.The kiwican leaders has to tell us how to
walk or something like jumping on one feet.Also of they
said 4 conners we have to go to a conner.We had to walk
by jumping on one foot.Also there is somebody in the middle
that points at the team who is the nosies and get them out.
It was a very fun game.Everybody tried to male no noise so
there conner doesn't get out.Everybody had fun.Next we talked about
respecting our enviroment.Respecting our enviroment is very important because
of you stuff around you you repsect it.Then we played invisable touch.We had 20
people so 10 people in each team.It was a very fun game and also retiring because
everybody were running there hardest to get to the try.Kiwi can is very fun.

Basic facts boxes

L.I:To learn our basic facts.
On my basic facts boxes I was learning my
basic facts.For maths I been doing my baisc
facts boxes.Doing your basic facts boxes is good
for learning because you can know all your maths
knowledge.

SSR Selfie

L.I:To summerise and retell text.
This week for SSR selfie I read this book and it
was called War Spy.I had to read in my book
to get imformation and put it on the SSR selfie.
Books are good for reading and to get knowledge from the
book of it's nonfiction.

Plot Diagram

L.I:To understand conflict and resoulation in a fiction text.
L.I:to understand plot summary.
This week for writing we had to do a plot diagram.
Mr Ogilvie read us a story called the lorax.It was by Dr Suess.
It was the lorax the orginal.Mr Ogilvie read us the hole story
and we had to write in the plot diagram.We had to write about
the conflict and resoulation.

Next Mr Evans read it to make sure of we got
it correct and to make sure of we understand the
story more.

The conflict in the story is when the once-ler cut all the tree's
down.Also when there was lot's of smoke the animal couldn't breathe
propley so they left the place.

The conclusion is when a little boy came to the place where the
once-ler cut all the tree's down gave a seed to him to make another
truffla tree to make a thneed.

Telling time

L.I:How to tell time.
This week for maths we learned about how to tell
time.We had a little clock.The long hand is the minute
hand the short hand is the hour hand.We had to know
how to tell time.Telling time can be easy and also hard.
We had to make our own time and try to guess the time.
Then we had to make a DLO about how to tell time.


Inferring/What can you tell


L.I:To infer imformation from a picture.
This week for reading we learned about inferring.
We had write in the four boxes a infer about the picture.
We had to go in partners for inferring.In our partners we had to
discuss about our infers and discuss about what the picture looks like.
Also we had to do arrows to show where the infer is.

Kiwi Sport

L.I:To learn about defensives.
This week for kiwi sport we learned defensives in boxing.
The defensives were guard,roll,slip and bridge.The first one we did
was called guard.We had to get in partners.But we did a warm up.In a partners
we had put a cone in the middle and we have to try to get it before your partner
get's the cone.We had one round of it.When Pax's said go and I just grabbed
like the flash.The next warm up we did with our partner was that we had to the cone
from starting from the wall.But my partner has to go on the side.We did by crawling
and shuffling on our butt.

Next we did defense combo's.The first one we did was guard.One of the partners have to
put on white cloves and boxing gloves and the other partner has to grab a noodle.So I had to
slip my glove up to my forehead.Also my partner is lightly heating me on my glove as I slip
my glove up onto my forehead.

The third move we did was called bridge.We had to shuffle back as the partner tries to
hit us.The front foot pushes to shuffle back.Also we had to do our rock postitions as
we do our defensive combo's.We shuffled back so our partner doesn't hit us as we
shuffle back.

The fourth move we did was called slip.We had to move our body left or right but
keeping our head looking straight ahead.Our partner had to lightly hit us on the shoudler
as we slip.

The last move we did roll.We had to use our legs to do it and move our head in a U.
We had a try and our partners just had to put the noodle on our shoulder that's all.

Our partner had to do the same thing.



Trench Wafare


L.I to explain what trench warefare is
This week for inquiry we were learning about trench warefare. We also researched and have each other information about things in the trench and what the soldiers used in the trench. There was a main reason for trench warefare and that was No Mans Land because no one went on the land and because there were barbed wire and mines hiding in the ground. 

For imformation we looked at a site called BBC and three videos about trench wafare.
We learned about trench warfare.It was interesting that they made a safe wayto 
survive.We learned about what is a trench,what does a trench have 
and also things about trenches.

Kiwican

L.I:To respect our community.
This week for kiwican we talked about respect our community
and played games.The first game we played was called tunnel
ball.We had to make a tunnel with our legs and get one hand out.
We have a ball and who ever the ball goes to hit it and try to block
the ball.We only had one game.We played this game before so we know
what to do.Everybody had fun and wanted to have another go.
Next when the game finished we talked about respect our community.
The next game we played was called hand soccer.My team was called
the Alpha's and the other team was called the funkey monkey's.The golden
point is number 16.The funkey monkey's were winning and it was the last game.
It was the golden point.The funkey monkey's won.We had so much fun and got
to play games.


Maori

L.I:To learn about maori.
This week for maori we watched a video about maori
history.We watched and it was about New zealand being created.
After that we had to get into partners.My partner is Xavier.Next
we had a list.It had a number.Our number was three.It said on the number
three milo,drink,tea,coffee and surgar.We had to say in maori because it's
maori.We had to go on maori dictionary to find the word that's in maori.
Also we had to go on a google docs to do it.

Kiwican

L.I:To learn to respect our community.
For kiwican We played games and talked about respecting our
community.The first game we played was called remote.The
controls are stop,fast foward,play,rewind,pause.

For:


  • Stop-lie down on your stomach.


  • Fast foward-go fast around the room.



  • Pause-To jump up on the spot.


  • Play-Is to walk around the room.

  • Rewind-go backwards in the path you were walking in.
Those are the movements for those controls.
Everybody had fun.
Then after that we talked about respect.The 2nd game we played
was called invisble rugby.Everybody had fun because they were getting
tries and they were proud of themselves also because they were stepping them.
Everybody had fun and got to play games.

SSR Selfie

L.I:To summerise and retell text.
For SSR selfie I went into my book called
Ghost of the Titanic.I retelled text to write it
on my google slide.I was about a person that died in the
titanic.

Touch Interschool

L.I:To play touch and learn touch.
This week for interschool we went to plap interschool rugby.
We played touch with different schools.The first game we played
against a school that is very good.We played against and the points
were 4 to 0.The 2nd game we played against another that's very good
at touch.We lost and they won.The next game we played was against
a very good team.The next game we played was against Pt England.
They were difintely were going to win and they won.The last game we played
against was panmure district.We lost against.We lost all our games and that was sad.
But actually we had another game because we only had 5 games but we had one game
left.We played against the same team.It was the team that we played in the 1st game.We finally
got one try because we never got a try for all the games but this one.We almost had a tie but
I just missed that boy with the boy.But it was okay I doesn't matter of we lost all our games.


Mounted Art

L.I:To learn about art.

This week for art we had to finish our artwork and put our designs on paper
and write about our designs.In our writing we have to talk about what we did
what and what we used that's all we have to do for our art.

We have to make sure
you finish all your art and make sure writing is perfect.After you have done your writing
you have to see of it's the right size and all your art is sticked on perfect.


And then after that
put your writing onto the paper.After that your finish.Doing art is very fun.Also the three
designs we had to put on was called the Chirstmas theme, Armistice day and Max Gimblett
style.

Max Gimblett is one of the best art people in the world that
is in the worlds famous gallery place.

Maori/Paikea

L.I:To learn about paikea and learned a new story.
This week for maori we learned about this book called
THE CLAY WOMAN.When the mother and the father was
seperated after that book it was the clay woman.After we learned about that
book we had to do paikea.We had to get the pictures and links for the videos about
ngati porou and paikea.Also get person riding on a whale.And make sure you attribution your phtoto because so you can get to the site and look at the imformation.

Art work

L.I:To learn how to be like Max Gimblett.
This week I have been learning about how to be Max Gimblett
and how to design like Max Gimblett.This week I did 3 designs.
I did the first one first and colored it into colored pencils.The next
one I colored in was pastel.The last was with paint.The small was chirstmas
the next one is amistice and the last is Maz Gimblett style.We needed
some materials to help us do our designs.Here is my 3 designs.
Art is for taking some time and to take practice so when you do designs
it's going to be perfect.

Max Gimblett


 L.I:To be like Max Gimblett and do designs.
This week me and Fanini are partner and we have been
learning Max Gimblett.The first thing that we did was that we had to
go on this slide called Max Gimblett.It was about Max Gimblett.
We had to get imformation to get knowledge about Max Gimblett and
put it on the google slide.The next thing we had to was do a design.
There was three themes for the designs.It was christmas,amistce and
max gimblett style.Me and my partner had to do it different.The first design
I did was about the white cross and soilders.The next design was that drawn
a chirtmas tree and put dimanonds on the tree for the decoration.The last design
I did was Max Gimblett style but not actually copying his designs.Also we had to do
3 layers of color.

Prototect


L.I:To learn maths activity.
This week for the math activity's I choose
basic facts/prototect.I learned my division,
addition, subtraction and time tables.
This is a maths game that is all the basic
facts but for younger kids not for high 
school.

TREE/Writing test

L.I:To learn about TREE.
This week for writing I learned about TREE.We had to go and copy and
paste on your own writing test so you can copy and paste it to do TREE on
it.We had to make sure there is a


  • T-title

  • R-reveal

  • E-events

  • E-ending.
Thats what TREE stands for.
We had to get a text box put the word in and write the meaning and
about it.Make sure you put a arrow on there to point where the Events,
ending,title or reveal.
Also we learned ablut this on term one the first term.
Also Chris showen us a  movement about TREE and he also said TREE.
So went on a google slide to put my writing test on the google slide.
I looked in the area's of my piece of writing to find where the title is,the
events,the reveal and the ending.
Doing TREE is good for writing.




WW1

L.I to completw the two slides of New weopns in world war 1 and battles of world war 1
This week for Me and spelmans Inquiry must do was to complete the New wepons of World War 1 because we havn't finished it. Then next was the Battle of World War 1. When we finished the New wepons of World War 1 we got on to Battles of World War 1. It was a time line. The time line was 1914 - 1919. It was what started World War 1 and what ended World War 1. Then we had to explain what happedned at that time of the year an who was envolved. 

Boxing

LI: To learn how use footwork and learn new hand moves.
On Thursday morning we had a boxing season and it was our second one. So we first started by siting down on the floor in the school hall then we went over the rules at boxing after that we had to wear our gloves then wear our boxing gloves after that we had to get into partners and then name our self partner one and partner two I was partner two after we did that we went over the rock position again and the jab and cross punch. After that we one partner had to put there left hand our right hand up and the other partner had to punch it by doing the jab or cross.

Next we learned how to use our left hook and right hook it was similar to a cross but I bit different after that we learned how to do a proper up a cut to learn how to do that one partner had to put both hands horizontally and the other partner had to do a up a cut to it. Then we learned how to do foot work and they first taught us how to move froward while doing the rock and that is to put your right leg forward and your left leg behind it then we learned how to move backwards while doing the rock and that is to put your left leg back then your right leg back then after that we got back into partners and we had to say to each other what to do my partner started first and I told him to move back forward then back again then forward again after that we did combos one of them was Jab,Cross,Right hook, left hook, Left up a cut and right up a cut. The combos was pretty hard cause you had to remember what to do.

After that we took our gloves of then we sat back down then we talked about what we did and what was the rules again then I went back to class and washed my hand after that I blogged my work and felt great.

Conflict resoulation and book interactive

L.I:To make a book interactive.
This week for reading I learned abot conflict and resoualtion.
Also I did a book interactive.We had to read a book to learn about
the conflcit and the resoulation.The book interactive was about
getting the pages from the book go on the template to put on there.
I'm in the Thor group.The thor group has to do



  • 1 figuretive language

  • 2 te reo maori questions

  • 2 vocubarly questions.
That's Thor group had to do.
Also we had to learn first so we know how to 
do the tricks for doing the google because 
so we know how to get on the correct or 
the incorrect slide and how to get on the questions 
slide.
This is my google slide that I did for my interactive book slide
and my conflict resoulation slide.
I like learning about reading because you can get knowledge.




Exchange Animation


L.I:To learn about to exchange things.
This week for maths I learned about exchanging one money
and to give me a ten money.We ad to exchange to get more money.
I made three animations.It was about exchanging.Look at the google
slide to see the animation.We had to say numbers in maori and we also
have to learn maori because it's easier for us.

  • Fifteen-Teaku ma rima

  • Twenty Four-Rua Tekau Ma Wha
Those are my numbers that I had to exchange for maths and for my maths animation.
